Mitch and Tracy

This new blog post has extra special meaning.

This groom I have known since he was about 7 years old. I used to babysit him and his siblings....
Yes, babysit!!
There was Mitch, Jordie, Jillian and Jeffery. Mitch was always well behaved, Jordie definitely had a twinkle in his eye, Jillian was always so quiet and and Jeffery was a happy and content baby. At least that is how I remembered it. Ha ha! It was a long time ago!

Now it is not like Mitch and I have seen each other on a regular basis, in fact I do believe the last time I saw Mitch was when I had shot some photos of his graduation. But, I do run into his Mom once in a while and I have gotten updates on him and his brothers and sister.

When I was contacted by Mitch and Tracy, it was always Tracy that I had spoken with. "She is such a beautiful soul", I had thought after the first time we had talked on the phone and when I got the chance to meet her the day of the wedding, I thought "WOW!, Mitch did good!!" She is beautiful in every way possible. And I mean that.

You did good Mitch. Real good.

When I got to see Mitch, on the day of the wedding, he gave me such a huge hug that I felt it in my toes!
So heartwarming! Not that I had any doubts, but, Mitch had matured into such a nice, handsome and thoughtful guy!!

You did good, Tracy. Real good.

I am not sure if I can even express how I feel about this family. When I was editing these pictures I would find myself smiling away and reminiscing about this amazing family and the babysitting adventures we had.
Jen and Joe always made me feel welcome in their home and would always put up with my chattiness even when it was really late and I am sure they wanted to go to bed!! Thanks for your patience, Joe! Ha ha!

Enough chattiness...it's time for some photos!!

One of my favs!!

The Schochter Family.

Thanks so much to the Schochter and Doorman families! You are amazing!!
Tracy and Mitch, I wish you all the best in all your years to come!!
Thanks for everything!

Bednar Family

I have known Tyler and Chelsey for a few years, now. I first met them when they were looking for a wedding photographer in ....yikes!!....2008???!!
I always have a few key things that I remember about a wedding that I have shot. The two that stand out with Chelsey and Tyler is how flippin' HOT it was that day ( i think it was 40 degrees!!) and how big the wedding party was. Seven on each side!! Everyone was so great, though, I mean 40 degrees in tuxes and dresses??!! They were super troopers!!
Since then, Chelsey and Tyler have expanded their little family from two to four! They now have two beautiful girls named Madisyn and Jordyn. We had to do this shoot on the wonderful day of Christmas Eve, due to Tyler working out of town. Chelsey's Dad, so kindly lent us the use of his beautiful home with the most breathtaking view!!! He also is a huge Oiler's fan and one of the pictures below was taken just for him.

This family is so special to me. They always make me feel so welcome and loved!! Thanks Bednar Family!

Here is Madisyn!!

And baby Jordyn..

The amazing Bednar family!

Oh my!! This gives me the giggles!

Thanks again, Bednar family! You always make me smile.

Amanda and Sean's Engagement

I have had the absolute pleasure of knowing Amanda for about 10 years. Our parents had become friends first and since we are both so close with our families, we did in no time, too!
Amanda is one of those friends you know you will have for life. She is so caring and calm and always knows what to say, when to say it and to give me a good kick in the butt, when it's needed.
She is definitely the more responsible one between the two of us. She has got the good head on her shoulders and will always make sure everyone is looked after. Me, on the other hand, a little more....wild, crazy, fly by the seat of my pants??!! Not that Amanda isn't like that, she is, just with a lot more responsibility attached to it. None-the-less, we have alot of fun together!!
A few years after we had first met, we found out we looked almost identical as babies!! Ironic?? I would say more like 'kindered spirits'.

Sean is a guy I have not really gotten to spend too much time with. I do know, though, that he has a fantastic sense of humour, treats Amanda like a queen (exactly like she deserves!) and has an immense amount of patience. When you see someone whom you love so truly, as good friends do, you want them to find someone that makes them whole. Sean is that person for Amanda. Yes, Sean, you have won me over and my approval!

Since Amanda and Sean don't live here, and want photos for invitations, we were under tight circumstances to get these photos done. They were going to be in town for only a few hours and so we needed to get these done. I will be honest with you....I have never had weather like this while doing a shoot and I have never done a shoot so quickly!! (like 10 minutes, quick!!) But....I am really happy with how they turned out!

Take a look and let me know what you think!

I think this is my favorite!!

Thanks for putting up with the wind, snow and cold!! I really look forward to taking pictures for your wedding. Love you guys!

Melissa and Trevor's Wedding

Wow!! It has been too long since I have blogged last. Whew! It has been an amazing busy, busy few months! For those of you who do not know, I work full time at an outside job, do the photography thing AND am a Mom to two beautiful kids. Kate is 4 and Scott who is 2. We are also expecting our 3rd baby in April. So....I like to think I have an excuse why it has been so long since I have blogged!!

During the last few busy months I have shot engagements, babies, families and a wedding. So please be patient with me as the next few weeks go on because there will be a mixture of everything.

On to the wedding in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico!!

Since Melissa and Trevor were getting married at a destination wedding, the photographer was included, but they still asked me if I would mind taking photos as well. Of course I said yes!! If you don't remember from my previous post Melissa and Trevor's Engagement, Melissa is my cousin, so I was once again completely honored to have been asked.

Here are some of the photos....

Do you think this guy looks like a proud Dad?? I would say so.

The kiss....

Wonderful light!!

Having a little fun!! ( I did steal this idea from another photographer.....amazing idea if-I-do-say-so-myself!)

Melissa and some yoga moves...just for all her Yogi friends!!

My Dad and my daughter Kate. AKA-Dancing Partner's.

There is just something about this picture....

Last but not least...Melissa's other love of her life. Her handsome nephew Tristan.

Thanks to Trevor and Melissa!! I had such an amazing time!!

Jamie and Dan

Jamie and I have known each other for a really, really long time. I think she was 5 and I was 9??? See...we have known each other for so long I actually have no idea how old we were when we first met!! How about I tell you the things I know for sure. That might make this more interesting.
My dad and Jamie's mom (Colleen) became friends at work. In fact, my dad told my mom that her and Colleen would get along really well...and boy have they!! Colleen was a single parent at the time and ended up moving close to us. Colleen would pick my dad up on their way to work and drop Jamie off, so she could catch the bus with us. We, with my older brother Craig, would all walk to the bus stop together and then Jamie would hang out with us after school until her mom dropped my dad off. On weekends, we all did things together....boating in the summer and snowmobiling, sledding in the winter and plain old just hanging out any other time. Oh!! I had forgotten to mention that Jamie's step dad, Craig, was school friends with my mom and dad and that is how Craig and Colleen ended up meeting. Sweet story all around, don't you think??
Jamie and I ended moving away from each other, me in Winfield and her in Westbank, along with our ages (teenagers!) friends, activities and all around busy lives. We would still see each other the odd time and of course our mom's would keep us updated on what each other was doing.
I don't recall the first time I met Dan, but I do remember liking him immediately! I do believe Dan and my relationship was in little bits and pieces, I mean we just sorta saw each other in short little bits. Until.....the planning of their wedding. Dan and I have probably spent the most time together since all of the planning began! When Jamie was in Arizona, Dan and I ended up chatting on the phone for quite awhile one night. He was so involved and I loved that!!
Dan did not need anymore reasons for me to like him, but he found another one! His patience.....and more importantly, his patience with Jamie. I had been helping Jamie, one evening, with decorating their styrofoam wedding cake. Well....let's just say we were struggling (there was red wine involved) and Dan stepped in and saved the day!! Along with alot of patience on his part. Thanks Dan, you make me appreciate my husband alot more. ( I did learn that night that Jamie and I are alot more alike than I ever knew!!)
A couple of years aback I was trying to explain my relationship with Jamie, to a friend. She is more than a friend, but not blood related, sister seemed just weird, so I came up with 'pseudo sister'. We have battled together, against each other and definitely loved one another like sisters. So that is what we are. Pseudo Sisters! (Funny name, I know, but I do think it suits us perfectly!)

Finally a look at the pictures!!

One of my favs!!!

Totally candid....

Beautiful ladies!!

Hansome men!!

Thanks so much for allowing me to be a part of your day!
I love you and wish you all the best in all the years to come.

Melissa and Trevor's Engagement

Melissa is my beautiful cousin and she is getting married!! Melissa is one of those amazing people that you just fall in love with. She comes from a really great family (remember she IS related to moi!) has good morals, values and is really easy to get along with. You can always count on Melissa to have fun!

Trevor is a guy I have only met a few times. I would have to say he is on the quieter side but definitely a nice guy. He is marrying into a family who talks a lot so, really he never has to say too much. I do know Trevor is not a fan of getting his picture taken but, with me and Melissa around, he seemed to relax a little and I think he even had a little fun!

See for yourself.

This is one of my absolute favs!!!

Thanks for being so fun!! I really look forward to Mexico!! Yippee!!!
